Scholar and Educator - Academic Leader in Indigenous Studies
This role presents an opportunity to contribute to the development of educational excellence in Indigenous Studies at UNSW Australia. The successful candidate will carry out academic and research activities nationally and internationally, developing educational programs and materials that foster student learning and achievement.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate qualification in a related field, with relevant work experience and a well-defined teaching philosophy that inspires student learning. Key responsibilities include designing and developing learning activities and resources, assessing student learning achievements, and supporting students in postgraduate and undergraduate courses.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop learning activities and resources, providing assessment and feedback using a range of suitable approaches and learning environments.
- Support learning progression with students as individuals and as a cohort, achieving positive learning and employability outcomes.
- Manage course administration, including academic quality assurance.
- Maintain professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge, and minimum professional accreditation requirements.
- Conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision, designing research projects and contributing to competitive funding applications.
Requirements
- A postgraduate qualification in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Demonstrate and continuously develop a well-defined teaching philosophy that inspires student learning.
- Experience in teaching and learning design, development, and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
- Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds, supporting student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact.
Estimated Salary Range: AU$123,056 - AU$144,269 per annum (Level B/C), plus 17% superannuation and benefits.
