Maintenance Fitter Job Description

This role involves working closely with our maintenance team, reporting to the Plant Manager located in Western Australia on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose faults, repair and maintain hydraulic systems, conveyor systems and other equipment/machinery in the plant.
  • Perform basic welding, maintenance and repair work without supervision.
  • Perform lubrication and oil level checks.
  • Carry out start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Carry out major mechanical overhauls, refurbishments and repairs to equipment.
  • Carry out precision fitting within fine precision tolerances relating to bearings, bushes and sleeves and other parts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A mechanical fitting trade certificate or equivalent.
  • Working experience in confined spaces, gas handling and forklift operation.
  • Previous maintenance experience in a fixed plant facility or production environment.
  • Understanding and knowledge of MEX highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of root cause analysis.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work safely under pressure.
  • Experience using lathes, mills, pedestal drills and small to medium-sized gear/motor drives up to 15kW.
