Compliance Leadership Role

This strategic leadership position plays a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining compliance frameworks within an organization.

  • Architect and lead the Compliance Management System, encompassing oversight, policies, procedures, training, monitoring, testing, issue management, and coordination.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex problems and facilitate communication with senior leaders regarding ongoing processes, new initiatives, and regulatory changes.
  • Serve as the primary compliance liaison with external partners, fostering strong relationships built on transparency and alignment.
  • Collaborate with senior operational leaders to develop compliance policies, procedures, SOPs, and contribute to front-line job aids and instructions.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes affecting credit card management and servicing, ensuring process evolution for compliance adherence.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of a customer-centric complaint management system that meets UDAAP and CFPB standards, integrating into CRM systems.
  • Manage responses to regulatory inquiries and lead examinations.
  • Help define and oversee the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) strategy and coordinate internal audit planning.
  • Lead and develop a team of compliance professionals over the next 2-3 years, with direct responsibility for hiring and organizational structure development.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of compliance experience, preferably within fintech, banking, or financial services sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of US financial regulations: BSA/AML, GLBA, ECOA, FCRA, UDAAP, Reg-Z/TILA, CFPB guidelines.
  • Experience working with external partners or in business-as-a-service environments.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience building compliance programs from scratch in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required; JD, MBA, or CRCM certification preferred.
