We are currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Power Systems Team in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the grid connection process for new generation projects through the application, registration, energisation, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake and deliver high-quality Power Systems studies for renewable energy projects across the region, working closely with developers, investors, NSPs, and AEMO.
- Develop technical solutions to complex network and connection issues and resolve connection approaches for projects with particular issues.
- Contribute expertise and experience to drive successful connection for key projects in the industry.
- Provide expert project management and support across a range of projects.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards to maintain a high-quality outcome.
- Bachelor's or Higher Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Project management capabilities and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Adaptable and well-organised with a practical-minded approach and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt and work to tight deadlines, manage KPIs, and recommendations.
- Knowledge of power systems modelling tools, such as PSS/E, PowerFactory, or PSCAD.
- Experience in managing data, spreadsheets, and producing reports.
- Experienced with power systems modelling tools, ideally with some utility background in power systems planning or operations.
- Experience in leading and managing technical quality, timeline, and budget for projects with $300K budgets.
- Stakeholder negotiations to ensure successful project completions.
- Research publications in recognised Electrical Engineering journals or conferences.
