Job Title

Maintain and repair bitumen tankers to ensure safe, efficient operation and compliance with standards. This hands-on role involves working with specialized equipment essential for road construction operations.

This is a permanent position requiring skilled maintenance technicians who can work in a fast-paced team environment. Responsibilities include routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical faults, and performing preventative maintenance on tank systems including burners, pumps, valves, and hydraulics.

The Tasks Ahead
  • Ensure reliable and safe operation of bitumen tankers used in road construction and surfacing.
  • Conduct routine inspections diagnose mechanical faults and perform preventative maintenance on tank systems including burners, pumps, valves, and hydraulics.
  • Maintain heating systems to keep bitumen at optimal temperature during transport and unloading.
  • Carry out welding and fabrication repairs monitor and calibrate temperature and pressure controls.
  • Work in workshops and on-site to support operational readiness and minimize downtime.
About You
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with burner systems and pipework.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Understanding of hazardous materials handling hot bitumen.
  • Strong safety awareness and PPE compliance.
Key Requirements
  • Routine maintenance of bitumen tanks and equipment valves, burners, pumps, hoses.
  • Inspecting and repairing heating systems diesel burners, LPG systems.
  • Servicing hydraulic systems for loading/unloading.
  • Checking insulation and tank integrity.
  • Cleaning and flushing tanks for contamination.
  • Testing and calibrating gauges and sensors.
  • Performing welding fabrication and mechanical repairs.
  • Ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
