Research Fellow in Fairness and Bias in Machine Learning

This exciting research opportunity focuses on addressing the biases in machine learning algorithms that impact high-stake, human-centric decisions.

The project aims to develop techniques for disentangling ML bias into algorithmic and data bias, with a focus on intersectional subgroups.

Our team is looking for a highly motivated Research Fellow with expertise in fairness and bias research in machine learning to join our team for this 3-year role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and conduct cutting-edge research in fairness and bias in machine learning.
  • Develop novel techniques for disentangling ML bias and apply them to real-world problems.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from various backgrounds to integrate fairness research into machine learning systems.

We are seeking an exceptional candidate with a strong academic background in machine learning, computer science, statistics, or applied mathematics, and excellent communication skills.

Requirements:
  • Hold a PhD in machine learning, computer science, statistics, or applied mathematics.
  • Have less than three years of relevant postdoctoral experience.
  • Be proficient in programming languages such as Python or R.
