About Our Midwifery Role

This is a permanent full-time position for Registered Midwives in our Maternity service. We are seeking highly skilled professionals to deliver safe and compassionate clinical care, collaborate with the healthcare team, and achieve best practice patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities
  • To deliver safe and effective clinical care as a Registered Midwife.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve quality patient outcomes.
  • Engage in reflective practice through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of direct person-centred care.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • A relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licence as a Registered Midwife.
  • The ability to work all shifts according to the unit roster.
  • A Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening conducted, including Criminal History checks.
  • This role involves working with vulnerable populations and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to certain diseases.
  • A period of probation may apply.

Employee Benefits
  • A competitive base salary ranging from $82,753 to $106,144 per annum (Midwife Grade 5).
  • An employer superannuation contribution of 12.75%.
  • Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual; tax savings through salary sacrificing options are available.
  • In addition: 2 return airfares per year to a nearby city (plus recreation leave) with 5 weeks annual leave and 17.5% loading/bonus.
  • 2 weeks annual leave, travel as required, and enrolment/conference costs for approved courses and conferences.
  • Staff accommodation (if eligible) or private rental subsidy of $82.50 per week for up to 17 months.
