Maternity Care Professional

We are seeking a dedicated Maternity Care Professional to join our team in Mount Isa. The successful applicant will provide evidence-based care for First Nation women and their families throughout the pregnancy and postnatal period.


About the Role

This temporary full-time role is part of our ongoing efforts to improve maternity care services in North West Queensland. As a Clinical Midwife, you will work closely with local communities, health facilities, and family organisations to provide midwifery services for antenatal and postnatal care.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality midwifery care to First Nation women and their families
  • Work collaboratively with local healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Conduct home visits and community outreach to support vulnerable populations
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans to meet the unique needs of each client

Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary degree qualification as a Registered Midwife
  • Current registration with the relevant professional body
  • Postgraduate qualification or current enrolment in a relevant area of study (highly desirable)
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence
  • Able to work all shifts, including on-call rosters, as required
