Lead Mainframe Specialist Role

As a seasoned Lead Mainframe Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our mainframe systems in a z15 z/OS environment.

  • You will provide operational and technical support for mainframe systems, leveraging your expertise in z-platform and z/OS hardware and operating systems.
  • Manage software maintenance, including patching and upgrading software using SMP/E, to ensure seamless system performance.
  • Perform operational monitoring, alerting, and tuning for system performance, utilizing tools such as XYMON, MXG, VPS/NIMSPL.
  • Support application teams and management with mainframe expertise, providing 24x7 support including shift work and after-hours coverage.
Key Skills:
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in supporting mainframe environments, mainframe software migration and maintenance processes, automation scripting using SAS and REXX.
  • Expertise in z-platform and z/OS hardware and operating systems, application control in mainframe architecture, middleware, and tooling.
  • Familiarity with batch technology from a support perspective, including job languages such as JCL.
  • Australian citizenship (Baseline Security Clearance recommended).
