Job Summary: Tesla is seeking a Senior Engineer to specialize in Medium/High Voltage and Plant Reliability to become a valued member of our project engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Methodologies: Formulate comprehensive maintenance strategies and plans for utility infrastructure assets, collaborating closely with teams to ensure effective implementation.
  • Service-Oriented Solutions: Develop and execute service-oriented solutions that enhance the long-term performance of balance of plant equipment.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct in-depth investigations for system trips, identifying underlying issues and driving corrective actions.
  • Maintenance Best Practices: Establish and adhere to best practices and protocols for diverse maintenance activities concerning third-party OEM equipment.
  • Safety Protocols: Promote and uphold safety protocols for MV/HV equipment, becoming a proactive advocate for secure work practices.
  • Testing and Analysis: Perform rigorous testing and provide clear explanations of fundamental requirements and advantages for specific balance of plant equipment.
  • Communication and Feedback: Facilitate effective communication and feedback collection from the wider Tesla Energy service organization, compiling comprehensive updates about accomplished tasks, identified challenges, and projected timelines.
  • Third-Party Relationships: Foster strong relationships with third-party equipment servicing entities to ensure operational integrity of the plant.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain meticulous record-keeping standards for all HV operations, including but not limited to meticulous switching coordination.
  • Asset Support: Provide unwavering support to Tesla Energy BOP assets in alignment with contractual obligations and customer objectives.
  • Reporting: Generate detailed reports concerning operational maintenance plans, testing, audits, performance insights, and forecasts.
  • Asset Management: Compile and deliver comprehensive asset management reports to clients, supervisors, and management.
  • Compliance and Monitoring: Collaborate closely with the team director and the design/construction team to guarantee operational compliance with all commitments, performance guarantees, and company benchmarks.
  • Event Resolution: Conduct periodic online monitoring, recording, incident identification, and resolution for any events that disrupt power generation or overall project functionality.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Experience: Minimum of 5 years of cross-functional project or field engineering experience is a prerequisite.
  • Education: Holder of a B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • HV Operations: Proven hands-on experience in HV operations.
  • System Knowledge: Proficient in primary and secondary systems, showcasing a robust understanding.
  • Problem-Solving: Adept at navigating ambiguity, formulating and executing strategies, and demonstrating meticulous attention to detail. Track record of effectively tackling intricate problem-solving scenarios.
  • Cultural Competence: Established history of cultivating robust customer relationships and delivering impactful communication.
  • Skills: Demonstrates strong analytical and quantitative skills, leveraging data and metrics to inform assumptions and guide decision-making.
  • Project Management: Capable of managing multiple projects and tasks concurrently, spanning various teams, all within tight timelines. Displays agility in adapting quickly to changing circumstances.
  • Communication: Skilled at building rapport with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Urgency: Exhibits a profound sense of urgency and an innate drive to achieve objectives promptly.
