About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team at SYC. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in leading and managing our Human Resources team, ensuring the accurate and efficient administration of all Human Resource processes and the delivery of timely and compliant Human Resource services across SYC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Direction: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Human Resources team, ensuring the effective management of HR processes and the delivery of high-quality HR services to key business stakeholders.
  • Employee Relations: Manage complex employee complaints, grievances, workplace investigations, and mediations, ensuring a fair and respectful work environment for all employees.
  • Advice and Guidance: Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of people management, including employment law, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Policy Development: Develop, review, and maintain Human Resources policies, procedures, recruitment and selection tools, contract templates, and other documentation to support compliance and continual improvement.
  • Employee Development: Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of the Employee Development Program, ensuring the growth and development of employees across SYC.
  • Project Management: Work collaboratively with the Chief People Officer to proactively carry out assigned Human Resources projects to achieve set objectives, driving business outcomes and improving employee engagement.
About You

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in successfully leading a team, including the direct supervision/management of employees, with a strong track record of achieving business outcomes.
  • HR Expertise: Comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of employment law, employee relations management principles and practices, WHS legislation and regulations, and worker's compensation, RTW, and injury management.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels, including senior leaders and executives.
  • Time Management: Strong time management and organization skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities, and deal with competing demands.
Requirements
  • Working with Children Check: Complete a Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Eligibility to Work: Be eligible to work in Australia.
  • Driver's License: Have possession of a current valid Driver's License and willingness to drive.
