Opportunity for Support Workers in Disability and Aged Care

The role involves providing care and support to clients with disabilities and the elderly in a home-based setting. The support workers will work independently, utilizing electronic administration systems and mobile work models, which include travel reimbursement and ongoing training opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • \
  • Assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, toileting, and mobility\
  • Supporting clients to engage in social activities, appointments, and other outings\
  • Assistance with household tasks, including cleaning and meal preparation\
  • Medication assistance\
  • Light administrative duties, such as record maintenance and reporting\
  • Aiding clients with complex behaviors and developing behavior support methods\\/ul\

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Passion for working with people with disabilities and the elderly\
  • Professional or lived experience in disability and aged care sectors\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills\
  • National Police Certificate, Working with Children Check, and First Aid Certification\
  • Current driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle\
  • Ability to provide emotional support and empathy\\/ul\
