About the Role

Mercy Community - Aged Care Services is seeking a Spiritual Care Professional to join our team on a Permanent Part Time basis. This role will be based in Rockhampton, supporting our residents and their families.

The Spiritual Care Professional ensures that the Gospel values, Catholic social teaching, the charism of Mercy, and Mission and Values of Mercy Community are embedded in all aspects of our practices. You will provide care and support to residents to meet their sacramental, spiritual, psychological, and social care needs.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a holistic and supportive approach to Mercy Community's pastoral care services
  • Supporting new residents to aged and community care services, including a spiritual-needs assessment, care plan, and progress notes for residents
  • Coordinating linen and vestment laundering and care
  • Preparation and facilitation of Memorial/Thanksgiving services
  • Working under the supervision of the Pastoral Carer Lead and the collaborative oversight of the RN/EN in relation to resident care

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Relevant qualifications in Pastoral Care, Theology, and/or Spirituality and/or Counselling
  • Demonstrated commitment to, knowledge, and understanding of the principles of Catholic teaching, tradition, and ecumenism
  • Previous experience in a similar role, either in aged care or similar environments (desirable)
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above driver's license
