The Digital Content Manager Role

Seeking an experienced digital content manager to coordinate, publish and update high-quality, accurate online content that meets departmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the updating, editing, and publishing cycle of web pages across multiple department websites, ensuring content meets all standards and guidelines, is accessible and optimized for the web through SEO practices.
  • Use a job management system (JMS) to manage requests and collate and prepare content for publication on department websites.
  • Schedule content in accordance with the content strategy and editorial plan and emergency response as required.
  • Coordinate and manage the review and updating of content according to the content review schedule.
  • Proactively monitor and coordinate responses to website channel feedback, solving simple problems, negotiating with stakeholders, and escalating issues of concern.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (internal and external) and work cross-functionally with other members of the branch to ensure the delivery of seamless and professional digital communications services for all areas of the department.
  • Support digital literacy and digital media integration by providing advice to branch colleagues on integrating digital into communications strategies wherever relevant.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience in working within digital content functions for high-profile public services. Confident in web publishing using content management and other content production systems. Demonstrated understanding of the public service, health sector, and the operation of government, and of Victorian Government digital standards including the development of accessible content.

About You

A qualification in digital communications, web publishing, or another related discipline, or equivalent experience, would be desirable.
