Civil Construction Carpenter Role

About the Job

We are seeking experienced Carpenters to work on civil construction projects, performing formwork, framing, and finishing tasks. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, installing timber, plywood, and composite structures, and operating power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.

As a successful candidate, you will have a strong background in carpentry, with a Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification. You will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with site teams and supervisors to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform formwork, framing, and finishing tasks on civil construction projects
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Install timber, plywood, and composite structures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls
  • Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently
Requirements:
  • Qualified Carpenter (Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years of post-trade experience in construction carpentry
  • Experience in civil infrastructure, formwork, and concrete structures is highly regarded
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card)
  • Current driver's license and reliable transport
