Job Opportunity

Project Engineer - Construction and Maintenance. Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you will support the investigation, planning, and delivery of maintenance and construction works across a diverse portfolio of civil assets.

Assets are maintained to the highest standard while promoting sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and public safety.

This is an opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to apply technical and project management skills to a broad range of asset types—from roads and drainage to coastal and public domain infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate asset condition and performance; recommend remedial works.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of civil infrastructure maintenance programs.
  • Manage external contractors and suppliers in line with contract specifications and Council standards.
  • Provide technical engineering support across teams for planning, capital works and emergency response.
  • Liaise with residents, utilities, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication on projects.
  • Ensure works are delivered within time, quality frameworks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in investigation, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of road, drainage, coastal and public infrastructure assets.
  • Familiarity with local government standards, regulations, and contract management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance technical demands with community outcomes.
