Transportation Manager Position

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee the movement of freight in and out of our facilities. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient and safe transportation operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Safe Operations: Promote a safety-first culture and guarantee adherence to Chain of Responsibility and NHVL regulations.
  • Schedule Management: Monitor shift activity to ensure schedules are executed as planned and intervene where necessary to prevent delays.
  • Operational Optimization: Utilize equipment and resources efficiently to meet customer service targets.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proactively manage relationships with customers, drivers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Transport Operations Support: Assist the Transport Manager in day-to-day operations, including administration tasks.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and address non-conformances within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend corrective actions to improve Safety and Quality.

Requirements:

  • Transport and Logistics Expertise: Possess robust knowledge of the transport industry, with experience in a similar role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant transport industry codes and NHVL regulations.
  • Scheduling and Planning Skills: Demonstrate excellent scheduling, planning, and time management abilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Showcase an organized and systematic approach to work, with a high attention to detail.
  • Education and Certifications: Tertiary qualifications in Transport, Business, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing work hours and priorities.
