**Estimated Salary:** $120,000 - $180,000 per year

In the role of Senior Laboratory Quality Assurance Specialist at New York State, you will be responsible for conducting on-site evaluations of laboratory staff qualifications and testing procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related field, along with three years of professional experience in a clinical laboratory setting. A master's degree may substitute for one year of experience, while a doctoral degree may substitute for two years.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting on-site evaluations of laboratory staff qualifications and testing procedures
  • Evaluating facility standard operating procedure manuals and reviewing laboratory records
  • Reporting findings to laboratory directors and technical staff
  • Determining the acceptance of a facility's proposed remediation plan

**Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of clinical laboratory testing, quality assurance, audits, and applicable New York State laws and regulations
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel to laboratories accepting specimens originating from New York State
