Power Systems Engineer Opportunity

Job Description:

We seek a seasoned Power Systems Engineer with expertise in electrical HV Power Systems Design to lead and coordinate the delivery of complex projects.

About the Role:
  • Provide technical direction on project deliverables, collaborating with stakeholders and project managers.
  • Design, construct, and commission low and high voltage (up to 33kV) Power Systems.
  • Perform Power Systems analysis including fault current, load flow, protection grading studies, fault loop impedance, harmonic, and arc flash analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers to deliver technical tasks across various generation and power systems projects.
  • Investigate faults, report findings, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to create electrical power system schematics.
  • Review design outputs, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Liaise with internal and external clients, discipline professionals, and stakeholders.
  • Produce engineering design deliverables, including designs, assessments, drawings, and reports.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience in electrical HV Power Systems Design.
  • Proficiency in power system modelling software such as SKM Powertools PTW32.
  • Experience with programming and commissioning HV and LV switchgear is highly regarded.
  • Understanding of Energex standards, including major customer connections and embedded generation requirements.
  • RPEQ (in the process of obtaining).
  • Construction Industry White Card or eligible to get one.
  • Class C Drivers Licence (QLD).
