Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join our power utilities team in Brisbane or Sydney.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and conduct professional engineering work on EHV/HV secondary systems strategic planning and conceptual design, including protection, SCADA, communication, data networks, and load flow studies.
  • Provide detailed design services for high voltage power systems, including specification and procurement of equipment, control system design, and grid metering.
  • Assist with site commissioning and assume the role of design leader as required.
  • Plan, coordinate, and mentor other engineers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Requirements

You should hold an electrical engineering degree and have a minimum of 5 years' experience in design, integration, and coordination, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems and services for high voltage power systems.

  • Understanding and knowledge of secondary system design from basic concept development through to detailed design is essential.
  • Strong computer skills and industry experience in a diverse range of relevant power system protection and automation software packages, equipment suppliers, and products are necessary.
  • A positive approach to safety is required.
  • Excellent relationship building, problem-solving, commercial, and negotiation skills are essential.
