Job Opportunity

About the Role

This position is available in a department of anaesthetics at two hospitals within a local health district.

The area offers a range of medical services, including ICU, emergency department, and specialist services, to a diverse population.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
  • Demonstrate sound clinical knowledge in anaesthesia through successful practice in an appropriate environment.
  • Showcase skills and attitudes suitable for practice as a senior medical practitioner, including high-level interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, experience and involvement in quality assurance activities, commitment to teaching and supervision.
  • Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the department.
  • Carry out administrative duties within the department, including rostering.
  • Acknowledge the importance of junior medical officer wellbeing.

Candidates expecting to achieve fellowship within six months may be considered.

Requirements

Appointment conditions align with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
