**Job Description:**

The Sexual Assault Counsellor will provide culturally safe therapeutic and case management services to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal adults, young people, and children. This role involves cultural consultation to clients, communities, and professionals within a supportive team committed to integrity, inclusivity, and meaningful care.

The position requires ongoing professional development and clinical/cultural supervision.

  • Provide culturally appropriate trauma-focused therapeutic supports for Aboriginal individuals and families.
  • Collaborate with a close-knit team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, clinical supervision, and cultural supervision.
  • Contribute to trauma-informed practice addressing intergenerational trauma, colonisation, sexual assault, domestic violence, and child protection.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Eligible qualifications in Social Work (full membership with AASW), Counseling (ACA L3-4 or PACFA Clinical Registrant), or Psychology with appropriate registration; for Senior/Clinical Psychologist, relevant senior/advanced endorsement and practice requirements.
  • Experience providing culturally appropriate trauma-focused therapeutic supports for Aboriginal individuals and families.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish Aboriginal community connections and collaborations.
  • Understanding of intergenerational trauma, colonisation, sexual assault, domestic violence, and child protection issues.
