Sexual Assault Counsellor Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Sexual Assault Counsellor to join our team and provide culturally safe therapeutic services to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal adults, young people, and children.

  • Deliver culturally sensitive case management services.
  • Provide cultural consultation to clients, communities, and professionals.
  • Collaborate with a close-knit team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, clinical supervision, and cultural supervision.
  • Contribute to trauma-informed practice addressing intergenerational trauma, colonisation, sexual assault, domestic violence, and child protection.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Eligible qualifications in Social Work (full membership with AASW), Counseling (ACA L3-4 or PACFA Clinical Registrant), or Psychology with appropriate registration;
  • Experience providing culturally appropriate trauma-focused therapeutic supports for Aboriginal individuals and families;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to establish Aboriginal community connections and collaborations;
  • Understanding of intergenerational trauma, colonisation, sexual assault, domestic violence, and child protection issues;
  • Ability to work as part of a therapeutic team and manage multiple tasks.
