About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Director, Portfolio Delivery to join our team at the University of New South Wales. As a key member of our IT leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, delivery, and monitoring of our IT programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the project prioritization frameworks aligned to our IT strategy
  • Develop and maintain a rolling three-year masterplan exercise
  • Create roadmap artefacts that communicate our IT portfolio plans clearly to stakeholders
  • Advise the IT Executive Team on the delivery agenda and provide financial reports and budget outlines
  • Manage resource scheduling for all resources involved in IT projects
  • Manage program/project risks and issues, and identify and agree on priorities and mitigating actions
  • Embed project delivery knowledge and methodologies into delivery teams
  • Provide governance oversight to the entire program portfolio
  • Ensure an appropriate benefits framework is in place and provide timely reporting of benefits realization
  • Manage the performance of vendors within the Professional Services domain
  • Lead an engaged and thriving team, including developing, managing, and engaging team members
Requirements
  • Demonstrated portfolio leadership experience
  • Experience managing and governing the performance of third-party suppliers
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to demonstrate high levels of negotiation and consultation expertise
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of the tertiary education sector
  • Commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives, and values
