Job Title

 

A professional learning specialist is required to support and enhance the vibrant culture of professional learning in the learning and teaching domain. The role will collaborate with the Professional Learning team to coordinate professional learning programs, engage in the design, delivery and evaluation of professional learning programs and self-learning resources, and undertake project activities related to Murdoch University's strategic development of learning and teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage collaboratively in the design, delivery and evaluation of professional learning programs and activities related to Murdoch University's strategic development of learning and teaching.
  • Support strategic change initiatives in learning and teaching.
  • Collaborate and consult with individual academics, unit and course teams and disciplines to develop professional learning programs responsive to the needs of the University community.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in an area relevant to appointment or equivalent recognition of contribution to learning and teaching and a Fellowship or Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
  • Experience and success in leading and facilitating professional learning programs and activities focused on learning and teaching in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting, mentoring and/or assessing Higher Education Academy fellowships.
  • Knowledge of contemporary approaches to professional development, pedagogy and assessment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction only, exercise initiative, and deliver project outcomes.
  • Track record of research or scholarship in an area that contributes to the field of learning and teaching in higher education.
  • Experience and success in innovative course and program design and delivery.
