Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Boat Craftsman to join our New Product Introduction (NPI) division, specifically within the 'Fit Out 1' domain.

This role plays a crucial part in transitioning freshly designed boat models from the conceptual stage to their initial manufacturing phase.

The successful candidate will divide their time between overseeing and assisting in the hands-on construction process of new boat models and creating documentation in the design office.

  • Major component assembly (decks to hulls etc)
  • Systems runs (plumbing etc)
  • GRP small part fitment

A key responsibility includes ensuring on-time achievement of production schedule launch dates.

In addition, fostering positive relationships with employees and contractors is essential for this role.

Maintaining compliance with company HR and OHS&E policies is also a vital aspect of this position.

Key qualifications include at least 3 years' experience as a boat constructor, specifically with a focus on fibreglass or larger, high-end boat designs.

Evidenced proficiency across a range of expert labour tasks relevant to maritime fabrication is also required.

A professional demeanour when engaging with other departments and contractors is essential.

Self-motivated individuals with a positive attitude and strong work ethic are highly sought after.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for this role.

We are looking for someone who can effectively communicate production challenges to the design team and monitor build progress during the first 3 boats using build sequences.
