Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Engineering Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating engineering activities, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards, and working closely with workshop teams and vendors to achieve critical project milestones.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fabrication tools, welding standards, and metalworking techniques, as well as proficiency in CAD software and project management tools.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate engineering activities to support successful delivery of the fabrication phase.
  • Develop and manage the project's fabrication plan, including material specifications, welding procedures, and production schedules.
  • Liaise with workshops and vendors to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality workmanship.
  • Review and interpret project drawings, BOMs, and technical documents, escalating design or scope issues as needed.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and quality checks to confirm compliance with client specifications, safety standards, and fabrication codes.
  • Champion safety, quality, and process improvements in alignment with company values.
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proven experience in fabrication engineering within oil & gas, mining, or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication tools, welding standards, and metalworking techniques.
  • Proficient in CAD software and project management tools.
  • Familiar with Australian Standards relevant to fabrication and construction.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Welding Inspector or equivalent quality certification (highly regarded).
