Role Overview

As an SMB Account Executive at Afterpay, your primary responsibility will be to fuel our growth by establishing connections with potential Premium merchants. This will involve both proactive outreach and managing incoming leads. We seek a self-assured salesperson who is adept at navigating the sales process and is comfortable engaging with clients over the phone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound prospecting through cold calls to create new business opportunities.
  • Enhance revenue by onboarding new Premium merchants and identifying growth avenues.
  • Handle incoming leads with an emphasis on achieving high conversion rates.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of SMBs while supporting multi-channel expansion.
  • Adhere to sales and onboarding protocols to optimize annual sales performance.
  • Spot new business opportunities while effectively communicating Afterpay's value proposition.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Afterpay, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Track and report all sales activities and outcomes using Salesforce.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable with high-volume cold calling and business development.
  • Experience with tools such as Salesforce, SalesLoft, or Aircall is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage your sales pipeline and analyze data to support merchant discussions and meet sales targets.
  • Previous experience in retail or the payments sector is beneficial but not essential.
  • Possess a genuine commitment to integrity, making decisions that benefit all stakeholders, and fostering a positive future.
