Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineering Professional to join our team in Perth.

The role is a key part of our geotechnical engineering function and will play a leading role in the development and implementation of geotechnical strategies across our Pilbara Mining Operations.

You will work closely with senior technical professionals and leaders to achieve business objectives, focusing on the proactive implementation of our slope risk management standard and ensuring the team has appropriate resources and training to succeed in their roles.

About the Role

  • Slope Stability Assurance Guidance: Provide guidance on slope stability assurance to all operational sites and stakeholders, recommending geotechnical processes and assurance reviews.
  • Geotechnical Process Development: Contribute to the development of geotechnical processes that support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of geotechnical professionals, providing coaching and guidance to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication between the Life of Mine team and other stakeholders, managing stakeholder expectations through clear and frequent communication.

Key Requirements

  • Tertiary Qualification: A tertiary degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
  • Industry Experience: Extensive experience in the resources industry, particularly in surface mine design, operating practices, and the impact of mining operations on value chain outcomes.
  • Risk Management: Competency in Risk Management and Risk Assessment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of geotechnical requirements aligned with the risk profile as projects transition from early-stage exploration through OOM, PFS, and FS.
