Anton Murray Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Institutional BDM to join our client's Sydney-based business development and sales team. This is an exciting opportunity to grow the client's institutional client base and work closely with the Head of Institutional Sales.

About the Role:

This role will focus on coverage of institutional clients such as superannuation funds, asset managers, private banks, and asset consultants. The successful candidate will have excellent client sales capability and relationship management capability, as well as a strong understanding of the investment process for actively managed funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute effective sales campaigns to grow the institutional client base.
  • Work closely with the Head of Institutional Sales to develop and implement sales strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, including superannuation funds, asset managers, private banks, and asset consultants.
  • Conduct investment strategy with fund manager selection teams and asset allocation teams.
  • Monitor financial performance of underlying companies the funds invest in.
  • Monitor and ensure funds perform in line with investment objectives and remain within mandate.
  • Understand fund distributions and their components.
  • Liaise with internal colleagues such as the Portfolio Management and Investment Strategy Teams.
  • Understand ETF capital markets to promote client education.
Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • 4 years or more Asset management industry work experience required – Sales Support, BDM, RM etc.
  • Practical knowledge of ETFs and general market structure.
  • Ability to make decisions and act quickly in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience using specialized financial software, such as Morningstar Direct.
  • Experience developing Excel models and using other Office applications.
