Systems Development Manager, Security

This is a Systems Development Manager, Security role with Amazon (AWS) in Australia, offering a chance to join a rapidly growing team. As a key member, you will drive technical and operational efficiency for AWS, responsible for hiring and developing a team of engineers that build solutions while driving continuous improvement and support goals for AWS Regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hiring and developing a team of system engineers to build innovative solutions addressing operational problems.
- Leading the deployment and operation of AWS Cloud in regions with specialized security needs.
- Providing deep insights and status updates on the health of services at an executive level.
- Driving continuous improvement in systems operations through tool building and automation.
- Scaling services by leading the planning, hardware selection, costing, and provisioning of new capacity, including involvement in the sales process.
- Participating in the definition of the roadmap for services, including brand new ones, in collaboration with Product Managers, Engineers, and other development and engineering Managers.
About the Team:
Utility Computing (UC) at AWS provides product innovations, including foundational services like Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), as well as consistently released new product innovations that set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers requiring specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Clearance:
A day in the life of our engineers may involve diving deep to find the root cause of a customer issue, investigating why a metric is trending in the wrong direction, or discussing radical new approaches to automate operational processes. You will lead a team of dedicated engineers who provide troubleshooting and operations support, and innovate to automate operational tasks.
Requirements:
- Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.
