
Strategic Enforcement Leader

The Director, Enforcement role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of key strategies, policies, and procedures related to regulatory compliance. This position involves providing high-level leadership to enforcement teams and delivering agreed outcomes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining a high-performing team with the appropriate capabilities and skill sets. They will also lead internal and external experts in complex investigations and litigation.
This role requires exercising complex professional judgment in enforcement matters and contributing to the achievement of AUSTRAC's strategic goals. The successful candidate will also represent AUSTRAC in external forums and liaise with external and internal stakeholders.
Additionally, this role involves exercising approved delegations in accordance with legal and other requirements and modelling the professional work standards and behaviours in line with the APS Values, Employment Principles, and Code of Conduct.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be eligible for this role, you must have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in law, finance, justice, or similar fields.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: Regulatory Compliance, Investigations, Enforcement, and Civil Litigation.
You should also have strong investigation and evidence-gathering skills, as well as the ability to apply legislation and exercise statutory powers. Additionally, you should be able to provide high-level leadership to enforcement teams and deliver agreed outcomes.
