Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to manage key payroll activities and support the People & Culture team.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Process payroll from beginning to end, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
  • Handle calculations for entitlements like overtime, leave, and terminations with precision.
  • Reconcile payroll data and manage monthly payments (PAYG, super, tax) seamlessly.
  • Be the go-to person for payroll queries, providing clear, quick, and helpful responses.
  • Support the team with expertise in payroll processes and policy knowledge.
  • Oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
  • Serve as the primary contact for payroll queries, providing clear, prompt, and helpful responses.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience and Skills: 1–3 years' experience in a full-function payroll role, with hands-on experience managing payroll for 800–2,000 employees.
  • Familiarity with payroll legislation and the ability to find the latest updates.
  • Attention to Detail and Adaptability: A sharp eye for detail, quick learning ability, and the capacity to stay calm under pressure and handle last-minute changes.
  • Teamwork and Mentorship: A team player who is eager to learn, ready to be mentored, and communicates clearly, whether in quick chats or detailed emails.
  • Technical Proficiency: Confidence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and bonus points for experience with Dayforce.
  • Organisational Skills and Curiosity: Organised, accurate, able to juggle priorities effectively, and always up for a challenge with a curious and collaborative mindset.
