The Townsville Bulletin is seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Editor to join their editorial team.
- Maintain the highest standards of editorial excellence in content production for print and digital platforms.
- Oversee the development and implementation of editorial strategies that drive engagement and audience growth.
- Lead a team of journalists, providing guidance, mentoring, and coaching to ensure they reach their full potential.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including politicians, community leaders, and other influencers.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to ensure the organization remains competitive and innovative.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in journalism, preferably at an editor level, with a proven track record of producing high-quality content.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- A deep understanding of North Queensland politics and current affairs.
- The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
