We are seeking a journalist to join our team for the role of news content producer at WIN News Rockhampton.


About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and producing fresh and accurate news content for the weekday bulletins. They will work closely with editors and camera crews to ensure that all stories meet the required standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and develop story leads, identifying newsworthy topics and trends in local, national and international news
  • Assemble story sequences for the bulletins, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date
  • Collaborate with camera crews and other team members to produce high-quality video content
  • Maintain a strong understanding of media laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines

Requirements:
  • Journalism graduate with at least one year's experience in the media industry
  • Proven track record of identifying and presenting story leads, as well as assembling story sequences for broadcast
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with editors and camera crews
  • Familiarity with media laws and regulations, including copyright and defamation law
