Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of professionals to identify, document, and validate maximum retention timeframes for business information assets containing personal data.
- Assign, track, and manage day-to-day team activities to ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
- Consult with technical, compliance, and governance teams to implement required solutions.
- Engage with business units and senior managers to agree on maximum retention requirements for personal data.
- Oversee the design and implementation of controls, monitoring mechanisms, and governance processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Demonstrated experience leading small teams and managing day-to-day delivery.
- Skilled in workload allocation, setting clear priorities, and fostering accountability.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, including working with senior managers.
- Solid understanding of privacy compliance requirements, particularly the Australian Privacy Principles.
- Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into practical system and process controls.
- Ability to translate technical/compliance requirements into language that resonates with business leaders.
- Experience identifying and mitigating risks and issues that may impact delivery.
- Ability to manage interdependencies between business units, systems, and processes.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to track progress and report on outcomes.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and governance skills to provide visibility of progress to senior management.
