The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations is seeking a skilled Business Case Specialist to join its Migrant Skills Assessments (MSA) branch, operating as Trades Recognition Australia.
This team is responsible for managing IT systems used by the assessing authority in support of the Government's skilled migration program.
As a Business Case Specialist, you will lead efforts to consult and collaborate with stakeholders, identify necessary elements of a strong business case, and supervise a team with expertise in business analysis, system architecture, and cost estimation.
You will ensure alignment of business cases with departmental and whole-of-government approaches and obtain necessary endorsements and approvals.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult and collaborate with stakeholders, including experts in parliamentary, budget, and technology teams within the department and in regulatory, financial, and policy agencies across government.
- Identify necessary elements of a strong business case, source templates and instructions/guidance, and establish a methodical approach to ensure completion on time and to a high quality.
- Supervise a small team with expertise in business analysis, system architecture, and cost estimation, allocating work items that contribute to business case development and reviewing/editing completed items.
