Employee Relations Specialist

The organization is seeking a highly skilled HR consultant to provide strategic support to their people and culture team. This full-time role requires reporting directly to the HR manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer timely and accurate HR advice to managers and staff across the organization.
- Collaborate with the HR team to develop, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Interpret and advise on relevant employment legislation, policies, and enterprise agreements.
- Support the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes.
- Deliver HR projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in data analysis using HRIS systems.
- Support compliance-related activities and audits.
About You:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field.
- Previous experience as a generalist HR professional, preferably within local government or a complex organization.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and enterprise agreements.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using HRIS systems like PageUp or AURION is beneficial.
- Familiarity with local government or public sector frameworks.
