HR Consultant Role

The organization is seeking a highly skilled HR consultant to provide strategic support to their people and culture team. This full-time role requires reporting directly to the HR manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer timely and accurate HR advice to managers and staff across the organization.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to develop, review, and update HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Interpret and advise on relevant employment legislation, policies, and enterprise agreements.
  • Support the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes.
  • Deliver HR projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in data analysis using HRIS systems.
  • Support compliance-related activities and audits.

About You:

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a generalist HR professional, preferably within local government or a complex organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and enterprise agreements.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using HRIS systems like PageUp or AURION is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with local government or public sector frameworks.
