Role Description
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, workplace policies and procedures.
  • Lead a small team of 1-2, managing complex cases related to grievance, performance and conduct.
  • Support managers with interpreting employment legislation and agreements.
  • Assist in managing workplace disputes and employee grievances by coordinating effective solutions.
  • Contribute to drafting and reviewing HR policies and procedures that promote positive workplace cultures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant employment laws.
  • Coordinate and oversee external providers, including legal counsel and investigators, to support case referrals and advisory matters.
  • Deliver training sessions on employee relations and workplace advice as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of workplace cases for future reference.
  • Provide strategic guidance on performance management and disciplinary processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Background in human resources, employment law or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation, workplace relations and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex cases.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience in managing sensitive workplace matters with confidentiality.
  • A proactive approach to delivering tailored workplace advice.
  • The ability to work effectively in a public sector environment.

Candidates must have experience working within the Victoria Public Service.
