About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about events, operations, and coordination. As an Event Operations and Coordination Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of national events as directed by the Event Manager and Site Operations Manager.

Your expertise will shape our strategic direction and operational efficiency, directly impacting our innovation, growth, and the maintenance of SLSA's iconic Australian brand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, logistics, and on-site operations, including travel, accommodation, and venue requirements.
  • Manage entry requirements, volunteer coordination, and event technology needs.
  • Support infrastructure setup, safety compliance, and contingency planning.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Build strong relationships with local councils, surf clubs, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and event personnel to ensure smooth event execution.
Operational Excellence
  • Develop site plans, manage tenders, and oversee equipment hire.
  • Coordinate timelines, bump-in/out schedules, and on-site safety measures.
Financial Oversight
  • Assist in budget preparation and ensure events are delivered within approved budgets.
  • Monitor and report on budget variations.
Reporting and Communication
  • Prepare reports, including post-event evaluations and data analysis, to improve future events.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate / Diploma / Bachelor's level sports management or event management qualification or commensurate on job experience at same or higher level (essential).
  • Project Management training and qualifications (preferred).
  • Risk management training and qualifications (preferred).
  • Senior first aid (preferred).
  • Plant Machine License – Fork Lift, Telehandler, Skid Steer (preferred).
Work Environment and Benefits
