About Inland Rail:

Inland Rail is a key project that connects Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone completes our national freight network, linking producers to markets and enabling new opportunities for regional businesses, industries, and communities.

The Illabo to Stockinbingal project involves constructing 39km of new rail corridor within the Junee and Cootamundra-Gundagai local government areas. This new section provides a direct route from east of Illabo, tracking north to Stockinbingal, and connects into the existing Forbes rail line.

Opportunities for Skilled Workers:

John Holland seeks experienced workforce to join the I2S project. We require skilled individuals with strong civil and bulk earthworks experience for a 2:1 roster based out of Cootamundra.

We are currently recruiting candidates for the following roles:

  • Compactor Operators
  • Concreters
  • Truck Drivers
  • Dozer Operators
  • Franna Operators
  • General Construction Labourers
  • Large Excavator Operators
  • Leading Hands
  • Peggies
  • Riggers
  • Rough Terrain Crane Operators
  • Storeperson / Fitters

Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Able to work on a 2:1 roster (two weeks on, one week off)
  • Monday to Friday opportunities available for local residents
  • Will to do DIDO (Drive in Drive Out) or TITO (Train in Train Out)
  • Experience in civil construction and bulk earthworks
  • Operating mobile plant equipment experience
  • Strong focus on safety understanding
  • Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures, using PPE during work activities
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
