Job Overview

The Patient Safety Manager role at our organization is responsible for overseeing all aspects of patient safety.

  • Coordination of incident management, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning
  • Leading serious adverse event reviews to identify system vulnerabilities and areas for improvement
  • Fostering a resilient and reliable Healthcare Safety Culture where safety is everyone's responsibility

The Patient Safety Manager oversees the Patient Safety team who promotes open disclosure, builds staff capability in safety systems, and supports quality improvement initiatives to deliver reliable safe care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing leadership, authority, and delegation to influence clinical practice changes in relation to provision of safe patient care across the organization
  • Evaluating the outcome of implementations and adjusting direction as appropriate
  • Having the necessary degree of clinical knowledge, expertise, and experience to influence and guide senior clinicians to implement required recommendations to improve patient safety systems
