Job Role:

Safety and Compliance Officer

The primary goal of this role is to ensure that our company adheres to all health and safety standards as well as relative legislation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly conduct audits to cover management systems, safe work procedures, behavioural safety and preventative measures.
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors, supervisors and superintendents to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Conduct site safety inspections in conjunction with the client or management team to ensure prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Provide support and advice to project personnel on health, safety and environmental matters.
  • Participate in incident investigations and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Foster a positive safety culture by attending pre-start meetings and conducting thorough risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop construction documentation, including project management plans and safe work method statements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Prior experience in construction site HSE, preferably within the electrical sector.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks, with proficiency in developing safe working plans.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
