This position supports a program in Alice Springs, Australia. We are seeking an experienced nurse dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities:- Applies professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques to patient care.
- Reacts quickly and skillfully to emergency situations.
- Utilizes training and teaching methods effectively.
- Develops rapport with patients and co-workers through strong interpersonal skills.
- Collects various samples using practical knowledge of laboratory procedures and guidelines.
- Provides routine, urgent, and emergency care.
- Triage and provides medical advice to patients within the scope of practice.
- Checks blood pressures, weights, performs EKGs, draws blood, and collects urine samples.
- Manages mail, laboratory, and x-ray reports.
- Maintains clinics for dispensing care.
- Manages sterilization equipment and clean/dirty utility rooms.
Qualifications:
- Clinical expertise and a collaborative approach to patient-centered care.
- Strong communication skills and empathetic demeanor.
- At least three years of experience working as a registered/licensed nurse.
- Must possess a medical license to practice nursing in Australia.
- Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Current CPR certification.
Physical Demands:
- Work is typically performed in an interior/office environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for extended periods.
- May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
