We have an immediate requirement for a Transformers Specialist to join our office on a permanent basis.

This role is a mix of local, office and field-based work and involves national travel on a project-to-project basis. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate strong theoretical and practical knowledge.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Commissioning and maintenance testing of HV Power Transformers.
  • Construction, assembly, and repairs to HV Power Transformers, bushing installation/replacement, leak repairs onsite and in workshop environment.
  • Proven experience with application of vacuum and performing oil filtration/degasification.
  • Assist in preparation of commissioning/testing documentation, test plans and create detailed technical reports upon completion of works.
  • Carry out JSHAs etc. prior to commencing any new works to identify hazards and implement the necessary controls.
  • Primary Testing of HV/LV Transformers (i.e. Tan Delta/Voltage Ratio/Winding Resistance/Dielectric Response/SFRA, Oil Sampling)

Experience, skills and qualifications

  • Unrestricted QLD Electrical Fitter and Mechanics License.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience post-trade.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • HV Switching Ticket preferred.
  • Knowledge of appropriate Australian Standards.
  • Proven ability meeting project quality, schedule, and requirements.
  • Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
