Instrumentation & Control Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation & Control (I&C) specialist to support the delivery of major water projects across New South Wales.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early to mid-career engineer with hands-on experience in water infrastructure projects—particularly in desalination or water/wastewater treatment—to contribute to the design, implementation, and optimisation of I&C and SCADA systems.

The successful candidate will assist in the design, integration, and commissioning of I&C and SCADA systems for water treatment facilities, support construction and commissioning teams to ensure systems are delivered in line with project specifications, and contribute to resolving technical issues and ensuring compliance with design intent.

  • Assist in the design, integration, and commissioning of I&C and SCADA systems for water treatment facilities.
  • Support construction and commissioning teams to ensure systems are delivered in line with project specifications.
  • Contribute to resolving technical issues and ensuring compliance with design intent.

The role also involves collaborating with senior engineers and bid teams during tender phases, assisting in preparing technical documentation, drawings, and cost estimates, supporting the development of innovative and compliant technical proposals, working with procurement teams to define I&C scopes and technical requirements, assisting in vendor engagement and equipment selection processes, coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to support smooth project delivery, participating in technical discussions with clients and project partners, and supporting the preparation of presentations and documentation for stakeholder review.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline, 2–4 years of experience in I&C engineering, with a focus on water infrastructure projects, familiarity with SCADA systems, instrumentation, and control logic in water or wastewater treatment, strong communication and teamwork skills, and experience with AutoCAD, PLC programming, or digital engineering platforms (e.g., BIM).

We offer a collaborative and forward-thinking engineering team, access to mentorship, training, and career development opportunities, and the chance to contribute to projects that make a real difference to communities and the environment.
