Water Process Planning Expert Opportunity

This is a key role in managing and designing water, sewer, and recycled water treatment plant augmentation projects.


As a Water Process Planning Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in overseeing projects from initiation through to the completion of the concept design phase, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget, meeting our strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, process design, and management of water and sewer infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Prepare and review high-quality process designs, business cases, design reports, and cost estimates to ensure accuracy and alignment with council objectives and stakeholder requirements.
  • Develop feasible plant upgrade strategies and concept designs to meet future demands and improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist with or lead assessments of plant site capacities to ensure infrastructure meets future needs.
  • Collaborate with engineers and the Water Management & Treatment department to ensure accurate system loadings and process criteria are used for existing and new systems.

Requirements
  • Degree level qualification in Chemical (Process) Engineering, Environmental Engineering or similar discipline, with a focus on water and sewer systems.
  • Proven experience in managing water and sewer infrastructure projects, including design and process management.
  • Strong technical skills in preparing process designs, reports, and cost estimates.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

Salary: Competitive base salary commencing at $94,500 p.a., negotiable based on qualifications, skills, and experience.

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre. You may also be required to work from other Council sites across the region.


Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
