The OpportunityWe are seeking a People and Safety Manager to partner with our Executive General Manager and senior leaders to deliver our People Plan at an operational level. This role will oversee people experience, HSEQ, and training, providing expert advice and support to ensure contemporary, sustainable, and safe employment conditions for our people, aligned with commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the people experience, training, and safety functions to deliver an exceptional employee lifecycle experience.
- Collaborate with Centres of Excellence to develop programs enhancing the employee experience.
- Develop and execute HSEQ strategies in support of the overall business plan.
- Establish a safety culture that reduces incidents, accidents, and workers' compensation claims.
- Implement people initiatives and lead cyclical activities, including wellbeing, talent identification, succession planning, employee engagement, and performance development.
- Ensure effective driver training delivery in the region.
- Identify training needs and solutions across the workforce.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and collaborate at all levels.
- Ability to work at pace in an ambitious, progressive business.
- Deep understanding of contemporary people management practices.
- Experience as a general human resources practitioner with exposure to health and safety, injury management, learning and development, and employee relations.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
