General Surgery Unaccredited Trainee Position

This is an exceptional opportunity for junior doctors to pursue a career in surgery, focusing on General Surgery.

You will work under supervision in complex clinical environments at Campbelltown Hospital and Alice Springs Hospital, where you will provide effective surgical services to patients while preparing for a career in surgery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating patient care with the healthcare team
  • Ensuring accurate documentation of patient plans and treatment
  • Involvement in day-to-day assessment and management of patients
  • Arranging consultations and managing discharge planning
  • Participating in educational and career development opportunities
  • Full participation in after-hours on-call duties as required

Requirements:

  • Mandatory registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • At least three years' postgraduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised clinical environment utilizing excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and computer skills
  • Effective teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary care team
