About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Communication Strategist to join our team at the Department of Education. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the narrative of the School Leadership Institute (SLI) and contributing to the enhancement of learning experiences for teachers and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster collaborative efforts with the team and the Department of Education to drive effectively internal staff engagement in leadership development programs.
  • Raise awareness of the SLI's work through strategic communication initiatives.
  • Create engaging digital and written content, including videos, audios, and website materials.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management for impactful decision-making and aligning communication strategies with the department's goals.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing/communications and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a proactive and collaborative approach to working in a team. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong experience in digital media, website management, and content production.
  • Proven track record in developing effective communication strategies and reaching target audiences.
  • Familiarity with educational leadership or public sector is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and experience using Adobe Creative Suite to design and produce high-quality visual content.
  • Have 5+ years' experience in communications or a related field.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary from $116,211 to $128,061, plus superannuation and annual leave loading. Our flexible work agreements allow you to mostly work from home, and our central office location is in Parramatta. You will also have the opportunity to attend events and workshops in Sydney to network, grow, and achieve organisational objectives.
